Tehama County Board of Supervisors meetings will soon be available to listen to through audio streaming on the Internet.

The board approved an agreement Nov. 6 with IQM2 for meeting management software that will include the ability to audio stream and possibly video stream meetings in the future.

County staff expects the new software to be fully functional in either January or February 2013.

The software also will allow the public to search county agendas and meeting minutes.

According to a staff report, the county's existing Questys management software is not user friendly and staff was not in favor of exploring enhancements due to the lack of the company's stability.

The IQM2 system provides offsite storage of documentation.

The county plans to expand the software to other commissions and committees, including planning, sanitary landfill and transportation.
